Shanling has upgraded the exterior of the ME500 Platinum Edition with a luxurious platinum-plating that glistens with splendour while providing a strong protective casing for the rigours of everyday life. Shanling ME500 Platinum Edition has also been awarded the sought after Hi-Res certification by the Japanese Audio Association with a frequency response that extends to 40kHz.
For a tailored personal listening experience the ME500 Platinum Edition includes five different ear tips that alter the sound performance. Choose from balanced, bass enhanced, vocal-centric and soundstage silicone ear tips to change the frequency response as desired. Switching the material of the ear guides from PU (polyurethane) to PE (polyethene) also achieves a softer and more skin-friendly feel.
Precious Metal Housing
As with the standard ME500 the housing of the Platinum Edition is made from high-density brass carefully cut from a single block and coated in noble platinum. With the highly polished finish of this precious metal, the ME500 Platinum Edition display more strength and resistance to corrosion with a visually striking lustrous sheen.
Upgraded MMCX Connectors
With thicker gold plating, the MMCX connectors have been redesigned to be more substantial and robust, improving connection stability and providing a longer lifespan. As a result, the plug not only survives more plug-in operations but also have an even better, firmer fit.

Premium Silver-Plated Cable
Instead of the copper cable with silver coating and pure copper cable, the Platinum Edition contains all eight conductors with silver-coated OFC copper cables. In addition, the stranding of the cable has been significantly refined, which again significantly reduces the susceptibility to oxidation.
